Taieri Mouth
If you’re travelling the Coastal Route, you’ll either start or finish at Taieri Mouth. Nestled on the northern part of The Catlins coastline, this lovely seaside fishing village is where the Taieri River sweeps through a bush-clad valley to meet the bright white sand.
Just further south is Taieri Beach, a great spot for swimming and surfing with the picturesque Moturata Island just off the shore. Livingstonia Park is perfect for a picnic, or catch magnificent views over the gorge on the John Bull Gully, Picnic Gully Track, or the Taieri Millennium Track.
The annual Coastal Classic mountain bike, run or walk is a local highlight and normally takes place in November. For more information click here. For other places to visit in Milton and the surrounding area, visit their website.
