Picnic Gully Track

South of the bridge at Taieri Mouth, take this family-friendly track.

This easy walking trail starts from Hanning Place (400 metres south of the Taieri Mouth bridge). The track does cross onto private land half way up the gully. From here, you can either head up out of the gully and onto Finlayson Road, or alternatively you can return via the same track. You will wander through native bush where you can hear bird song of Bellbird, Fantails and the Kererus wings. Glow worms can also be seen after dark in the damp banks beside the stream.
