From Waitaki in the north, to Stewart Island in the south, and from the Tasman sea in the west to the Pacific Ocean in the east, Southern Way offers so many diverse places and reasons to visit.

Southern Scenic Route

The Southern Scenic Route is full of off the beaten track experiences from uninhabited beaches and lush rainforests, to stunning lakes and mountain ranges.

There are varied landscapes and wildlife mixed with rich history, culture and plenty of adventure along the way!

Take the 610 kilometre journey between Queenstown and Dunedin which ventures through Balclutha and The Catlins. The Southern Scenic Route has been voted as one of the Top 10 best self-drive routes in The World!
