Team Members - Meat Processing

Our Silver Fern Farms Finegand Processing Site in Balclutha employs 1200+ Team Members at the height of the season. Located 30 minutes south of Milton, an hour east of Gore, and an hour south of Dunedin, we run buses for most shifts between Dunedin and Balclutha to assist with getting you to work along this route.

Te mahi, our working arrangements:

Complete your on-the-job training and earn a minimum $28.12/hr plus extras.
Usually, 40 hours per week during peak production season, plus overtime opportunities.
Minimum $38/hr production overtime rate.
8-hour shifts, day shift and evening shifts times vary falling between 6.00am to 4.00pm, and 4.00pm to 12.30am.
All work clothing and safety gear is provided.
Buses for most shifts running from Dunedin to Balclutha and back, ask our team for details.

No experience? No problem, we provide all the training you need.
You’re an active team member who can work closely with others and bring a positive, hardworking attitude.
Able to understand and follow health and safety, quality, and technical compliance requirements.
Eligible to work in New Zealand.
Must be 18 years or older to meet audit requirements.
Able to pass our pre-employment medical checks, criminal convictions check, and physical fitness requirements.

Knife skills.
Trimming skills.
Current forklift license.
