Lead Fabricator / Foreman

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join South Otago Windows & Doors as a Lead Fabricator / Foreman. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for leading a team of fabricators in the production of high-quality window and door products at our manufacturing facility in Milton, Otago.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of fabricators to ensure efficient and effective production

• Train and develop team members to improve their skills and productivity

• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed to maintain a safe working environment

• Monitor and maintain equipment and machinery to optimise performance

• Liaise with the production manager to plan and prioritise work to meet customer orders

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity

• Provide regular feedback and performance reviews for your team

What we're looking for

• Significant experience as a fabricator or tradesperson in the window and door industry

• Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Familiarity with production processes, equipment, and machinery used in window and door manufacturing

• A relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience
