Meals on Wheels Delivery Driver
Holmdene aged care home is an Enliven property. They prepare healthy and delicious meals for older persons so as to enable them to maintain an independent lifestyle. Volunteers are required to collect 4 meals from Holmdene aged care home and safely deliver to four homes in Balclutha.
As a delivery driver you will:
- Transport four meals to four private residences
- Engage with elderly in a friendly manner
- Give your time daily or weekly (1.5 to 2 hrs per shift)
- Receive a full orientation and training
- Use your own vehicle or one provided by Enliven
Supporting older persons in a simple, practical way is a wonderfully rewarding experience. Sharing just a little bit of your time can really make their day, and it might just make yours too. Be prepared for 'helper's high' as your volunteering can lead to a rush of euphoria and the release of endorphins!
Requirements
- Full clean and current drivers license
- Able to work independently
- Physically fit enough to pick up and deliver meals to the door
- Police check
- Reliable and dedicated
- Commitment of at least 6 Months is required
A Police background check is required for this role.
Time commitment
- 1-2 hours Tuesday - Friday (number of days to suit your availability)
- Meals collected just before 12noon.
