JOIN THE CLUTHA COMMUNITY RIDING TEAM AS A VOLUNTEER
Are you eager to make a positive impact in your community? Do you have a passion for working with horses, supporting others, or organizing meaningful events? Clutha Community Riding (CCR), a registered charity, offers therapeutic, educational, and recreational horse-riding activities for individuals of all abilities. We also host specialized programs through the Equine Life Skills Academy (ELSA). As we prepare for Term 4, we’re looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team in the following vital roles:
Volunteer Roles:
• Leaders and Side-walkers: Guide horses and assist riders during sessions, ensuring a safe, encouraging, and supportive experience.
• Horse Care, Exercise, and Training: Play a vital role in the care, exercise, and training of our beloved horses.
• Operations Team: Help our program run smoothly by assisting with rider sign-in and organizing the day’s activities.
Schedule:
• Saturday Mornings: Leaders, Side-walkers, and Operations Team—join us for fulfilling sessions with our riders at 144 Johnston Road, Balclutha.
• Tuesday Evenings: Horse Care, Exercise, and Training Team—dedicate your time to working with our horses from 6-8 pm.
Training Workshops: All volunteers must attend four engaging training workshops on Tuesdays from 6-7 pm, starting on 10 September.
General Information Evening & Meet & Greet: Join us at 6 pm on Tuesday, 3 September, for an evening filled with information and connection. You'll meet our dedicated team, our wonderful horses, and learn about the CCR and ELSA programmes.
What We’re Looking For:
• Passion for Community Service: A strong desire to give back to your community is essential.
• Horse Experience: While experience with horses is advantageous, it’s not required—comprehensive training will be provided.
This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact in your community while learning valuable skills and working with a dynamic and supportive team. Whether you’re an experienced horse handler, an event organizer, or simply eager to contribute, we would love to have you join us.
