Expressions of Interest: Community Programmes with St John South Otago
St John South Otago is seeking expressions of interest for the following rewarding volunteer opportunities:
- Caring Caller: A friendship-based service that connects volunteers with people in our community who are feeling lonely or isolated. Share regular chats that brighten lives—both theirs and yours!
- Therapy Pets: Join over 550 volunteers across New Zealand who visit schools, libraries, rest homes, hospitals, and health services with their pets. These furry friends bring love, comfort, and wellbeing to those in need.
- Community Education: Help run the 3 Steps for Life programme, a free one-hour session that equips communities with CPR and AED skills, enhancing readiness and confidence to save lives in cardiac emergencies.
- Youth Leaders (Milton & Balclutha): Mentor young people by teaching life skills, offering career guidance, and developing leadership in your community—all while growing your own communication and practical skills.
- Ambulance & Events Volunteers: Be at the heart of emergency response and community care. Provide essential support during medical emergencies or at local events like sports matches and concerts. Comprehensive training provided.
If any of these opportunities resonate with you, we'd love to hear from you!
