Social Worker- Part Time

We have an excellent opportunity for a Social Worker to join our fantastic team in Balclutha. We work with whānau who are often living with complex needs to develop and strengthen their parenting skills and confidence so that their tamariki are able to thrive.  Manaaki whānau is our purpose, and the safety and wellbeing of tamariki is at the core of our mahi.

About the role

• Based in Balclutha
• 20 hours per week
• Salary range $68,038 - $102,000 pa. (pro-rated on hours worked) commensurate with skills and experience

About you 

• A tertiary qualification in Social Work that meets SWRB Registration is essential
• Knowledge of parenting and child development
• An understanding of Care and Protection principles and the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989
• Commitment to engaging in culturally safe and responsive practice and to your own Te Tiriti journey 
• Good knowledge of community resources and an ability to develop networks, including in Māori and Pasifika communities
• Experience working with whānau who need support with complex and often stressful situations
• Sound computer and database skills
• Current driver licence
