Parts Interpreter

Findlaters Yamaha has a long-standing history in the South Otago area, operating as a trusted business in Balclutha for over 50 years. Findlaters Yamaha supports the farming sector around Balclutha, including the Catlins, upper Southland and lower Dunedin area.

We are seeking a full-time parts interpreter to join our team.

As a parts interpreter, you will be responsible for identifying and supplying the right parts to customers & technicians, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all transactions. You will also be responsible for opening workshop jobs, charging parts accurately and completing stocktakes when required. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for automotive, industrial or mechanical industries who enjoys problem solving & customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers and service technicians in identifying and sourcing required parts.
• Process customer orders, quotes, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain and update parts inventory and stock levels.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the availability of required parts.
• Provide expert advice on parts compatibility and usage.
• Process invoices, warranties, and returns as required.
• Stay up to date with product knowledge and industry developments.

Hours of work are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with the occasional Saturday mornings.

About You:

• Previous experience in a parts interpreting role (preferred but not essential).
• Strong knowledge of automotive and small engine parts and components.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and computer literacy.
• A proactive and team-oriented attitude.
