Tautuku Estuary Boardwalk

Be transported to a different world at the Tautuku Estuary Boardwalk - an easy 30 minute (return) trail through native podocarp forest leading out to the estuary flats. Try to spot (or hear!) one of the resident noisy fernbirds as you navigate the Māori tapu (sacred spiritual) whenua (land) across a short boardwalk over the historic peat wetlands.  A great option for a sunrise or sunset hikoi (walk) where the vibrant rushes (oioi) glows and waves in the wind.
