Leithen Glen Reserve

Not too far from the friendly farming town of Tapanui is a worthy spot to get away from it all - the Leithen Glen Reserve. 

Set on the edge of the Pomahaka River, nestled in the Blue Mountains, the reserve is a tranquil place to stop and take a rest. 

With manicured lawns that spill down to the river's edge framed by a forest, it’s great for a family picnic with stone BBQs, toilets, and a changing shed. 

The river is also great for swimming or trout fishing. While the fresh water has some deep sections for confident swimmers, the little ones can play in the light rapids or throw stones from the banks.
